The CWM 240i is our latest innovation, designed for pot filling and sealing. Providing higher speeds and up to 30% more control than a traditional inline machine, with the flexibility of a rotary, the CWM 240i could significantly boost the efficiency of your production processes.
The CWM 240i will provide a 75% increase in product throughput versus the equivalent standard linear machine. It has been calculated that this would equate to a 23% quicker financial payback.
The CWM 240i’s unique design means that product changeovers can be achieved in under 10 minutes, giving your business the flexibility to fill many different packaging formats on the same machine. All of this would be with a smaller footprint compared to its linear counterpart.
Built around Rockwell Automation’s iTrak technology, the electromagnetic modules combine continuous motion and dwelling on the same frame bed. The 240i machine is designed to have 14 moveable slats in groups of 2. Made up of intelligent conveyers, each slat movement on the 240i Machine can be recorded for data analysis, giving you a full insight into how effectively your machine is working. On a standard 4-lane machine, the 240i can fill up to 240 cups per minute.
Due to the flexibility of the 240i, slat changeovers can be completed quickly for different sized pots and packaging formats, without causing any unnecessary machine down-time.
The 240i can be manufactured in larger versions, with more lanes to allow for even more pot fills per minute.
Proven assemblies are built into the 240i for cup dispensing, filling, foil dispensing, heat sealing and ejecting.
Cup Dispense and Filling
Cups are dispensed 8 at a time into 2off static locators. From there, the locators are in constant motion through the filling, foiling and sealing stations, before being static again for the eject.
The filling nozzles dive into the cups, before being raised at the same time as travelling along the machine with the cups, providing a clean and accurate fill. For manufacturers wishing to fill items of different shapes and sizes, CWM’s quick change parts format allows for a quick release without the need for tools.
Foil Dispense and Heat Sealing
A servo-operated foil dispense enables accurate picking and placing of foil onto cups as they pass by. Once foiled the cups move onto the heat sealing station: heads are moved along in time with the locators, achieving a perfect seal. Support runners move along with the locators to ensure the correct loading are achieved while in motion.
Once sealed, the locators are brought back together in pairs for 8 cups to be ejected via the lift pick and place system onto the outfeed conveyer.
