Major olive producer orders a glass jar filling and capping line

A UK based producer of mediterranean products such as olives, tapenades and antipasti has awarded a contract to CWM Automation to supply a new production line suitable for glass jars and poly bottles. The new line will be fully automatic and highly flexible, handling a wide range of different products and packaging. 

The new production line will include an infeed rotary table, a volumetric filling system with interchangeable nozzles, a metal detection system and screw cap applier.

The new line will be installed in late May 2012.

CWM Automation launches new Bunch Wrapping machine

CWM Automation has just completed the design and build of its new generation of bunch wrapping machines. The ST50BW is specificallydesigned to bunch wrap products such as cheese, pork pies, Christmas puddings, soap, adhesive tapes, bearings and other similar products.

Utilising servo driven technology the ST50BW bunch wrapper can operate at high speeds with very accurate wrapping. A single head machine will produce up to 60 packs/minute.

All CWM bunch wrapper machine can wrap either plastic film or parchment paper and can apply a base label, offering customers ultimate flexibility.  

CWM bunch wrap machines are manufactured in stainless steel using high quality robust components. Change part tooling incorporates quick-release stainless steel parts with a food grade lightweight plastic rotary table.

Size changeovers can be carried out in less than 10 minutes.

Piquant Ltd orders new Bottle Filling & Screw Capping Line

West Midlands based producer Piquant Ltd has ordered a new bottle filling and screw capping line from CWM Automation. The new line will pack 1/2 litre and 1 litre bottles of flavoured sauces. The line comprises of a rotary bottle unscrambler, a volumetric filling assembly, a cap unscrambler and a cap tightener assembly. CWM engineers offered a turnkey project to Piquant Ltd which also included the integration and control of  an induction sealing tunnel and a date coder.

The new bottle filling and screw capping line has an output speed of 20 bottles per minute and is fully manufactured in stainless steel. The line incorporates height adjustable filling nozzles and cap applier. Size changeovers can be done in less than 5 minutes.

CWM wins contract to supply another Bottle Filling & Capping Line

Bottle FillerCWM Automation has just been awarded a new contract to supply another bottle filling and screw capping line. This time the line will pack food type sauces and relishes such as tartare sauce, mayonnaise and tomato sauce. As with previous bottle lines, it will be highly flexible and will pack both 500ml and 1 litre bottles with a future-proofing design to allow different shapes and sizes of bottle to be used at a later date. Single point guide rail adjustment and height adjustable filling and capping assemblies make the bottle line operator friendly. The new line will include a twin head volumetric filling system and an automatic cap unscrambler and cap tightener.

Gravy Granules Producer orders new Collation System

collation systemA major gravy granule producer, based in the north of England has placed an order with CWM Automation to solve their problem of collating gravy cartons during line stoppages. CWM Automation will supply a fully automatic collation conveyor. The system will act as a “buffer” for the filled cartons when line stoppages occur. The new collation system will be integrated with an existing high-speed line. The collation conveyor system will be designed to accept different sizes of cartons without the need for size changeovers.

The order for the Collation System follows the success of the ATP 120 high-speed Tray Packer, which was installed earlier this year. CWM Automation’s Technical Director, Mark Cooper is delighted to receive repeat business from a very valued customer.

Bottle Filling & Capping Line for liquids and gels

bottle lineCWM Automation has recently been awarded a contract to supply a highly flexible Bottle Filling & Capping Line suitable for liquids and gels. The line will be delivered to a large producer in the West Midlands who pack a range of products including disinfectants, anti-bacterial hand gels and surface cleaners.

The new bottle line will incorporate a twin head volumetric filling system with rise & fall non-drip nozzles and an automatic screw cap tightener. The bottle line is designed to be highly flexible and is suitable for filling and capping bottles ranging from 250ml to 1 litre trigger bottles as well as 5 litre containers.

The new line will be installed in November 2011.

Wine Innovations orders second Starwheel “Wine in Glass” filling machine for South Africa

Wine MachineLondon based Wine Innovations has chosen CWM Automation to supply a second twin lane ST100R Starwheel machine for their latest “Wine in Glass” project.  Wine Innovations have collaborated with a wine producer to launch the product in South Africa.

Following the success of the first ST100R Starwheel machine installation in Australia earlier this year, James Nash, Managing Director of Wine Innovations has placed an order for a second machine, this time to pack wine in South Africa.

The twin lane ST100R Starwheel machine packs 2,400 glasses per hour and is fitted with MAP-F gas flushing to extend the shelf life of the product for up to one year. The ST100R Starwheel is designed for ease of use and is fitted with quick-release change parts to enable fast product changeovers in under five minutes.

The new machine will be installed in Cape Town later this year. CWM Automation’s Technical Director, Mark Cooper is delighted to receive repeat business from Wine Innovations and said “We look forward to strengthening our business relationship over the coming years”.

TSC Foods chooses CWM Automation again!

Scunthorpe based food producer TSC Foods has chosen CWM Automation again, this time to upgrade one of its existing soup filling lines for a new product launch suitable for dips and dressings. The old filling line needs an overhaul and some major improvements to enable it to be used for new dips products. CWM Automation will carry out the work which includes the design and fitting of a new foil dispense and heat sealing system for pre-cut diaphragms, modifications to the filling assembly and a new set of change parts to suit different packaging.

The machine will be installed in August 2011.

CWM supplies Tray Packer to Gravy Granules Producer

Tray Packer - cartonsA major gravy producer and packer, based in the north of England has awarded a contract to CWM Automation to supply a high speed Tray Packer system. The new ATP 120 Tray Packer will be installed onto an existing packing line and will collate and load cartons of gravy onto pre-formed cardboard trays in different formats at speeds up to 120 packs per minute. The ATP 120 is designed to be highly flexible and will handle many different sizes of gravy carton with changeovers taking only a few minutes. The ATP 120 will be installed in June 2011.

Bucket filler for dressings and sauces

A major producer of salad dressings, based in the north of England has placed an order with CWM Automation to supply an automatic bucket filling system suitable for mayonnaise and other similar dressings and sauces. The filling system is suitable for 2.5 litre, 5 litre and 10 litre capacity buckets and incorporates a load cell to accurately weigh and fill the bucket. This system is very effective and gives very accurate and consistant fills. An empty bucket is placed onto the load cell platform, the bucket is then filled until the load cell signals that target weight is achieved. The nozzle immediately shuts-off, resulting in very accurate filling. The new filling system will be installed in April 2011.
